Week 3, Lesson 3: You create your own life
Your habits and your routine stack up to create who you are..
Too many of us are living on ‘autopilot’
Or worse
We are ‘going with the flow’
We let our environment and emotions dictate our lives and when we reach the finish line, we wonder where we went wrong..
So, how do you take control of your life?
It’s simple. By taking control of your daily habits and routines
Life isn’t a random collection of events; it’s created by daily habits and routines
Every instance of progress or failure that you have experienced in your life can be traced back to your habits and routines
Poor health? You never worked out
Financial independence? You most probably saved more than you spent and focused on investing
You see? Every experience can be linked directly to our habits
So even when we say that we are going with the flow
We are still being driven by our habits.. They are just not the right ones
The only way to actively participate in your life is to take control of your conscious decisions
You can’t control anything in your life but the will to take action
Each choice, each decision, shapes us into the person we are becoming.
For a good life, action is non-negotiable
It’s the only practical way to make progress in all areas of life. A meaningful life is not a sprint but a marathon. It’s a commitment to taking action, day after day, even when we don’t see immediate results
The lack of action leads to your life into a ‘free-fall’ like state
The only way you can control your life is if you start taking action today
Remember, the difference between a successful person and a failure can be summarised in just one word: Action.
Step away from the autopilot mode and take full control of the direction of your life
Act with intention, patience, and consistency, and see how your life changes.
